Can anyone tell me where Leigh is?

Just part of my desk, and yup, that's a Pongo mug there. I don't know how to adjust the picture.

It's Leigh's birthday gift for me, and i really just want to thank her again.

Miss yah Leigh!

Scattered Thoughts

1.) I just assumed sitting on the reclining chair would ruin the whole picture.

2.) The floral gate of hell (or some place below the sand).

3.) Boracay pal in his happy castle.

4.) There really were too many beads to choose from. Reminds me of love. No matter how many they are in the world, I know one of them is meant only for me. All I got to do is be patient, open my eyes, and let my heart do the choosing.

5.) See how the lights seemed to slide down the trees, aching to kiss the white sand?

6.) Walking on water? A really crazy sunset. I wish everything could be this crazy though.

7.) How can you NOT believe in God? See how he's trying to climb down the mountain?

8.) Really, really, really missing N.

9.) Really, life can be this simple. Yet beautiful nevertheless.

I'm a lesbian and I'm an eight.

Just got back from a three-day trip from Boracay, and I just have to say it was truly one of the best trips ever. Bora is breath-takingly beautiful in July (pictures of the place in my next post), and the prices for beads and stuff are at an all-time low because it's the lean season. Anyway, I missed blogging, I miss N, and despite how the beach felt like heaven for a while, i just couldn't wait to get back to the grime of the city, the craziness of work, and the passion of N's kisses.

During my first night in the island, me and some media peeps went to Cocomangas, the famous club in Bora that offers rural lounge and old, yet hip dance music. What surprised me though is just how many girls are out selling meat (their own) to hot-blooded foreigners visiting the island. It's sad how prostitution seemed a way of life there, and some of the girls were no older than 14! BUt that night, you can't really stop them. All that's left for you to do is close your eyes, finish your dream jar and groove to Black Eyed Peas (which seemed to be a local favorite). After downing two Bailey's shakers, and feeling abit tipsy, me, my female friend and a bisexual pal decided to hit the dancefloor. Female friend whispered something to me, and we just started dancing sensual to each other with a hidden plan of teasing bisexual pal. It didn't work since he had his eyes out for the hunky Macgyver look-alike. What was a bit bothering was how i kinda liked dancing like that with female friend. Girls are soft! No wonder guys go crazy over us.  I think that was as far as i went with lesbian instincts though.

The next day, i decided to sunbathe on my own at station one where the sand was blindingly white (hey Eunmi, i managed to sneak a jar of sand back). While walking to a nice spot, i noticed this group of guys who were lined-up on reclining chairs eyeing girls. I know they were eyeing girls since everytime a girl walks by, they suddenly raised these ridiculous score papers like they're judges in the olympics! It was outrageous, i cans't believe they could go really low in damaging a girl's self-esteem. They gave one girl a 3 and when she reprimanded them, they flashed her a 2 when she turned her back! Guys, such monkeys! Of course, i was really reluctant to walk by them in fear they'd give me soemthing really low, and i could have just kicked myself for feeling so affected and insecure. These boys are superficial, and they should be ashamed for thinking the true path to real beauty is wearing a very skimpy bikini. So i just held my head up high, dragging my green sarong and walked by them.

They gave me an eight.

I'd be such a hypocrite if I said I didn't smile.

Ah girls. What pushovers.

Crazy world.

I’m officially in love with five men.

Problem is, they’re all gay.

Queer Eye for the Straight Guy has successfully led me to the impossible task of going home before 10pm just so I could catch their show, and making me late for almost an hour of the next day’s appointment because I need to watch the re-runs.

The Fab Five is everything a girl could ever dream to be – fashionable and culture-chic. Minus the testosterone, of course. It’s an ironic delight that the only way for guys to become the picture-perfect image most girls fantasize, is to follow the directions given by five amusing gays who claim to know how it is to be a ‘real man.’ However, watching them has seriously steeled my belief that great single guys are either gay or on vocation (God always gets all the studs. Who can compete with that?).

It’s chocolate-fun for me to watch them gab away and turn a straight guy’s world upside down with gentle sarcasm and high-cheek know-how. Who else can pull-off the hair-blower related comment, "oh I know everything about a good blow" than the achingly-cute Kyan?

I have to admit though that one of my most favorite episodes was when they failed to transform a bumbling model-type into the modern day Cassnova. Who could forget Allen, and his priceless breaking of an expensive Martini shaker, muttering "don’t ever buy nice things Allen, coz you break them" over, and over again. And after his classic, "Look Hunny, I bought something for you, I actually paid for them with my credit card", I was laughing so hard, our neighbor had to knock on our door and ask me if everything is alright.

Whenever I feel the need to restore my amore for the opposite sex, or when I’m feeling a serious case of PMS, I just tune in to the ETC channel and let Kyan, Carson, Jai, Thom and Ted do their magic.

All my snaps go to these lovely queens.

***

"Sweetie, would you ever want to be made-over by the Fab Five?"

"Uh, no. Do I need to?"

"Well not really, but I think it would be fun if they could do something about your hair or your clothes, not that you actually need it, but I think it’ll be fun"

"And whatever are they gonna change?"

"They could start by teaching you to use moisturizer or facial wash, or they could lightly iron your jeans for you"

"Moisturizer? Wash? Don’t you girls use that when you have your period or something?"

"Baby that’s FEMININE wash."

"Oh."

After a couple of silent seconds…

"You actually iron your jeans?"

I’d love to know what Carson has to say about that.

I felt like having a fantasy film binge today so i rented Lord of the Rings 1 & 2, Harry Potter 1 & 2, Practical Magic and one film that I can't remember the title, and rented only because Tom Cruise is such a hunk when he was young. He had bad teeth, but hey I just can't resist those eyes. Mid-way into the first Harry Potter cd, i remembered a conversation I overhear when I watched it's 3rd sequel...

(Screen showing the part when Harry tried to protect Hermione from the crazed werewolf-turned Lupin)

People in theatre: Yiihiiii...

Girl behind me (GBM): Awww, they're a cute couple

Girl beside her (GBH): No, no, Harry is not her partner, it's supposed to be Ron

GBM: BUt how come...

GBH (rudely cutting her off): Tumahimik ka na nga! Mas marunong ka pa sa nagsulat eh! (Will you shut-up?! You think you know better than the author?!)

I'm not really sure if that's the english translation of their conversation, but you get my point.

Never mess with Harry Potter freaks.

My God daughter celebrated her first birthday today and her grandparents just went all-out for her. They had Starbucks catering for the event for crying out loud! And that's for the coffee alone. They also had face-painting booths, henna tattoos, Ice cram carts, cotton candy carts, and even fishball carts! There were also hideous clowns who played billiards when it began to rain. They weren't reall funny except for the time one of them instructed the kids with...

"Children, please backwards"

I DON'T think he was trying to be funny then.

It cracked me up though.

Sorry.

I'm supposed to be sunbathing somewhere in Bora right now, but the weather wasn't cooperating so they cancelled my trip for next week. It was a bummer, but then again, you go to Bora for a different sunshine, and it ain't really the same with dark clouds casting the sky. Oh well.

***

Spent a rainy afternoon with three beautiful kids in my boss' home. Astrud, Veda and Sabine were a handful yesterday, but they were still my angels. Sabine, the one-year old has just learned how to walk. I was talking to my boss while holding a piece of cracker that i was munching on, when I felt four tiny teeth chomping my finger. It turned out Sabine has been eyeing my cracker, and since I was too busy talking to eat, she decided she's gonna have the foodie all to herself. I just couldn't stop kissing her.

Then it was an evening with me and my big baby. I guess you can say we've made up. And did we! But then that's for me alone to remember...

It was a full five minutes before I realized I was reading the same lines from Eunmi’s blog over and over again. And I still couldn’t understand a thing. No, it’s not that her blog has lost all comprehensibility. It was me.

We’ve been arguing for the past week without rest, and I just don’t know how much my heart is willing to take. It felt like I was talking to someone totally foreign or alien, and no matter how much explanation I offer, I end-up getting the same lost response. It was like talking to a shadow or an echo. Although this echo had numerous exclamation points to stress that he was mad. Or I was mad. I can’t even remember how it all started, or what we we’re arguing about. But the hurt is there, and the pain has become an uncomfortable familiarity (I kept on typing the word uncomforting, wondering why my thesaurus kept on suggesting I’m using the wrong word).

I turned off my phone to give myself temporary solace. Fearing that the moment I flick it on, barrages of ache will be flowing to no end.

Have you ever experienced sitting on the high end of the seesaw, and feeling so scared you might fall? And you’re just hanging there, feet dangling in the air, where it’s too high to jump to the safety of the pebbly ground? And you argue with yourself whether to tell that person holding your weight to just let go, because you know very well that the moment he does, it would be a heady rush to the ground, believing that what awaits you is a literal pain in the ass?

But it’s really more than my ass that’s at stake at the moment. And I just don’t know how to deal with it.

There are two things I truly need right now – courage and strength.

And yes, maybe a couple of chocolates.

Alright. This is a believe it or not portion. This is a photo of my sister with her bandmates behind an ancient rubber tree in an old retreat house. The helpers warned them not to take pictures in the area because of 'unwanted' camera freaks. I wish i could post a clearer picture. Upto now my sister swears they didn't do anything to alter the picture.

So, do you notice anything weird with the pic?

No?

Start counting the hands.

Was finally able to watch a movie with Haze and ex_groupie.

Saw Cinemanila's Vibrator -- a road trip movie packed with emotions, psychoanalysis, quickies and a lovely Japanese couple who pronounce ice cream as "Ice cram". I thought it was really cute. I liked the movie, although i had to go to the washroom minutes before the show had to end. Quark Henares was there. Not sure if he liked that movie though.

On our way to Greenbelt, Haze and I were talking about our fave Spiderman 2 scenes. But our conversation had pauses in between, we shut-up whenever we see guys in lovely motorbikes driving past our taxi, trying to figure out if the rider is cute or not. Okay, I keep on looking if the rider was cute or not. Haze kept on ranting about the bikes.

Stopped by Gloria Jeans in Greenhills for coffee. We went to Greenhills so i could buy my kitten heels slippers. HAze insisted the mall was already closed but i bugged her, she gave in. The mall was close when we got there. She ordered Cookies 'n Cream and I got myself Mint CHoco Bomb. The drink left me feeling as though I just brushed my teeth. It was THAT minty.

Ex_groupie was in semi-dreadlocks. Cool. Had to go home early, I had a 10pm deadline. Next time Andrea, promise to have coffee with you.

I expect more than just a greeting

and more than just a fiery kiss

I wait for you to breathe in my hair

and lick my lips wet with your saltiness

your sweetness,

and tenderness that runs

from the corners of my toes,

rubbing against the burns of my skin.

I crave for you to consume me,

and once more show a different sunset.

(In a very sing-song voice)

"I'm gonna go back next week, I'm gonna go back next week --- HEEEEY... I'm gonna go back!"

Boracay -- can't wait to be with you again.

Cats have attitude, don't you think?

Our maid has been feeding scraps of food to straycats outside our house for almost three weeks now. And I think they've set it in their minds that they have finally found their ultimate meal slave. They go crazy everytime our door opens and they give out this blood-curdling meows as though they're saying, "HEy, what took you so long? We're starving here!" I can't really remember where i read this line which says cats can never be your pets, you have to be their "human." Pretty soon they'll be giving us names.

Well these cats (there used to be only one, the mama cat, but now there are three of them) certainly think we're their humans.

I'm not really crazy when it comes to cats (I used to have a pet bird, and a cat ate it ) . The good side though is that they're able to trim down the rats running around the area near our house.

Now if we could only do something about that smell...

What a day.

I haven't really had a proper meal yet, and i just noticed i've been drinking coffee since this morning. So now i'm literally a big pack of nerves.

Interviewed Australian Idol Guy Sebastian for lunch earlier and he was almost two hours late. The coffee DID NOT help during the waiting at all. It was a round table discussion, meaning, other reporters were there. I was really on the edge of my seat because of the caffeine, so when Guy nonchalantly asked who was the female judge for American Idol, I blurted out (and I swear it was the caffeine), "Gloria Estefan?" Guy was nice enough to laugh it off and say, "Nah, i think it was Paula Abdul. Here, have some peanuts." My editor is laughing upto now.

Then spent the rest of the day hanging-out in former childstar, now acoustic crooner, Aiza Seguerra's room watching Sister Act 2 (I thought Lauryn Hill was sexy just by listening to her). It felt really odd and fun sharing a pillow with her. I just used to watch her movies like Super Inday and the Golden Bibe or Petrang Kabayo (I'm not really sure if she's there, again, it's the caffeine talking).

After that, went to NBC tent for RJ's Froth of July Party. South Border was performing so it was cool, although i left for about an hour to get myself another box of Gonuts Donuts. Oh excuse me Giuli812, D-O-U-G-H-N-U-T-S. Then i went back to try the basketball arcade. One guy challenged me saying if I lose to him, then he buys me a beer and we'll talk for 30 minutes, trying to get to know each other. If i win, i can gloat. I thought it was a stupid pick-up line but i took the challenge.

I won 60-24, easy.

Boy it feels great to kick a guy's ass.
